Our History

The firm's founder, Mike Welty, learned as a young lawyer that the practice of law was really about helping people. That’s when he began to see the profession for its other name, ‘Counselor.’ Mike established a strong foundation for Welty, Weaver, & Currie early on that endures nearly half a century later: we fiercely protect our clients interests and seek to preserve their wealth by avoiding complex legal procedures. Today, Mike has transitioned from Partner to ‘Of Counsel,’ allowing him to offer counsel as needed while ensuring that the firm continues to always bring humanity and good will to the practice of law.
